Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine

Desmond Tutu TB Centre

The overall aim of the Desmond Tutu TB Centre at the Stellenbosch University is to facilitate collaboration between the many researchers involved in TB diseases. The Centre conducts relevant original basic and applied research, as well as to provide education and training to students and the community on all aspects relating to tuberculosis; facilitates optimal growth and deployment of expertise and infrastructure; foster and facilitate appropriate collaboration between all possible role-players at every level of the community in the Western Cape, Southern Africa and abroad; and contribute significantly to the control of tuberculosis in Southern Africa, the African Continent and global communities through research, education and training.

National Tuberculosis Institute

The National Tuberculosis Institute was established in 1959 in Bangalore by the Government of India. TB control programs for India are formulated at the Institute where the TB problem is large and the resources are meager. The Institute undertook several operational research studies and also provided valuable input to the national TB Control Programme that was adopted by several other countries.

Dignitas International
